Introduction to dotNet Protector

Licensing Mode

dotNet Protector user license is granted on the 'by device' model.

'device' means a computer or a usb storage key.

Three activation methods are available

1. Computer activation

In this mode, the license is attached to the computer where it has been activated. dotNet Protector can run on this computer only.

2. Usb storage activation

In this mode, the license is attached to the usb storage device, not the computer. dotNet Protector can run on any computer, as long as the device is attached to this computer.

3. Instant Activation

In this mode, the license is attached only temporarily to the computer where it has been activated Each time dotNet Protector runs, a 'license token' is queried to an activation server for the computer running dotNet Protector. Attachement will persist 1 day. During this period no other computer will be able to get a license token for the same license. This license mode requires a permanent internet access.
